Expressing that the Middle East has 4 percent of the world’s soil and 60 percent of natural resources, he said, Iran’s share of the world’s total natural resources is 2.3 percent, and Iran ranked 10th in the world. 86% of the total natural resources production in Iran is related to fossil fuels and 12.8% is related to minerals.

Jahangiri added: Iran has one percent of the world’s total area, while the share of our country in the reserves of mineral and oil and gas in the world reaches seven percent.

According to him, 42 billion tons of mineral deposits have been identified in the country, some of which are at global level.

The first vice president noted that 20 percent of the nominal value of shares other than oil and gas is available to mineral companies, and mines such as lead and zinc Anguran, Mahdiabad, Chadormalou, Gol Gohar, Sarcheshmeh copper, Sangneh copper, Zarshuran gold, Sariogoni gold, Potash and evapotranspiration are among the largest mines in Iran.

He said that it is possible to avoid the single-product economy through the mining sector, considering that the mineral companies in Iran have the most stable margin of profit among the first 100 companies.

According to Jahangiri, using the modern technology, we must re-activate the abandoned mines of the country, which we are weak in this regard.
